March Reopening & Important Dates at The Grizzly Golf Course

We are excited to announce The Grizzly will open for play 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. March 2, weather permitting!  

We are eager for the golf season to begin and for our patrons to return to The Grizzly.  While the course will open March 2, weather permitting, we ask for your patience as not all amenities will be operational and we are just beginning spring tune up of the course.  Our new Pro Shop will open on March 16 when Cincinnati Tennis will officially open the Cincinnati Open Sporting Club.  Prior to March 16, Cincinnati Tennis has invited the public to a special Open House on March 1 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Please visit Cincinnati Open Sporting Club at  https://cincyopensportingclub.com/ to RSVP to this event.

What to Expect on March 2 – 15 

  • Pass holders may reserve tee times by calling 513.398.7700 or email ahorn@masongrizzly.com
  • Public tee times can be booked online via our online booking engine or on the Grizzly Golf App
  • Upon arrival, golfers may use the designated bag drop near the cart barn staging area
  • Parking remains located in lots just south of the former clubhouse, along Legacy Park Way
  • After parking, please check in at the cart barn and pick up your golf cart
  • Restrooms will be available in the former clubhouse and on Hole 14.

We understand that normal routines may be disrupted as we work through opening the course and the new Pro Shop.  We appreciate your patience!

Mason’s significant investment in this campus elevates golf and creates significant opportunities ahead for the Grizzly golf course and its patrons.  We are excited for the upcoming season and long-term future of golf and we will continue to keep you updated on any future operational changes. The Grizzly Featured Nationally by the USGA Greens Section

This week at the GCSAA Conference & Trade Show in Orlando, We were featured as part of a national advertising campaign led by the USGA Green Section. As one of seven golf courses nationwide selected for the campaign, it highlights our leadership in agronomy, sustainability, and science-based course management.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our agronomy team, our long-term investment in the golf course, and a philosophy rooted in research, education, and responsible stewardship — all in service of delivering an exceptional golf experience.

December Update – Upcoming Operational Changes

It’s hard to believe winter has arrived and the holiday season is already here! As we wrap up another memorable year at The Grizzly, we can’t help but reflect on the tremendous transformation that has taken place—from changes across the landscape to continued progress on the golf course and throughout our daily operations. Through it all, your support has meant the world to us.

As we look ahead to 2026, our focus turns to the exciting transition. Below are key operational updates to help you plan for the months ahead.

Restaurant

  • The Great 18 Bar & Grill will officially close on December 19.
  • Beverages such as water, Gatorade, soda, and domestic beer will be available beginning December 20 – 31st for purchase in the Pro Shop.

Pro Shop & Golf Operations

  • The facility will be closed for the Christmas holiday on December 25. The Pro Shop will reopen Friday, December 26 through December 31, 2025.
  • The golf course, Pro Shop, and administrative offices will be closed January and February, while operations are moved to the new facility.
  • We anticipate reopening the course in early March. For the latest updates, please visit www.masongrizzly.com/news.

What to Expect

As we enter a new year filled with possibility, we are incredibly excited about the future of The Grizzly and the unique partnership between golf and tennis. We are hopeful that upon reopening in March, golfers will get to explore the newly relocated Pro Shop and enjoy all the amenities of the new multi-sport campus, including restaurant, locker rooms, etc. While we are still working through operational details, we hope to finalize plans over the next few months.

Upcoming Operational Changes – Effective November 1st

As the fall season settles in, we want to keep you informed about a few upcoming operational changes at The Grizzly.

Hours of Operation

Pro Shop: 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday–Sunday
Driving Range: Closing for the winter on November 3
The Great 18 Bar & Grill: 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday–Sunday (aligned with Pro Shop hours)

Food & Beverage Service
In preparation for the exciting move to the new clubhouse, we’ll be scaling down food and beverage inventory this winter. To best serve daily golfers, we’ll offer a limited, golfer-friendly menu featuring quick-order favorites, weekly specials, and a pared-down beverage selection.

We recognize this is a shift from how The Grizzly has historically operated, and we truly appreciate your understanding during this transition. The upcoming partnership between golf and tennis will open the door to even more exciting opportunities—and we can’t wait to share what’s next for our community.

FIRST TIME ACCESS – SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

To access your portal for the first time, you’ll need to verify your account through our booking engine.

STEP 1: Click sign up

STEP 2: Enter the same information used in your customer account

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Phone Number
  • Email
  • Create & Verify your password

IMPORTANT: The email address used must match the one provided to The Grizzly for contract agreements, league or series signs ups, and/or event registrations.

Once logged into the booking engine with your verified account:

  1. Click the menu dropdown in the top right corner
  2. Select Dashboard to access the portal
  3. From there, you can use the pages to view information for:

Parking Update: Operational Changes in February

Construction Update for Golf Course Guests at The Grizzly

We are excited to share updates on parking logistics as construction continues on the shared golf and tennis campus. The map above details how guests should arrive and park when visiting our facility.

Temporary Parking

The new temporary parking area is now in place. All guests should use the Sports Center Complex Drive entrance and follow the lanes indicated in pink on the map. Turn left onto Paul Flory Way and park along the left side of the road in the spaces marked in green on the map. Additionally, ADA parking spaces will be available in front of the clubhouse.

Future Parking

The main golf course parking lot will reopen on March 1st. At that time, guests should continue to use the Sports Center Complex Drive entrance and follow the lanes indicated in purple on the map.

Winter Updates: Operational Changes for January – February

As we embrace the quieter winter months at The Grizzly, we’re making a few updates to improve your experience now and into the upcoming season. Here’s everything you need to know about our winter operations, including parking changes, adjusted clubhouse hours, and a temporary break for some of our favorite programs.

Parking Changes

We’re excited to share that the temporary parking lot south of the outdoor shelters will be getting a much-needed upgrade! This lot will be closed for grading and resurfacing starting in January, with plans to reopen by late March or early April—just in time for the in-season rush.

During this time, we ask all guests to park in the east lot near the driving range. To accommodate additional parking needs, we’re also relocating the barricades on Paul Flory Way. Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements—we can’t wait for you to see the refreshed lot when it’s finished!

Clubhouse Hours

To streamline operations during the colder months, the Pro Shop and Great 18 Bar & Grill will have the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday: Open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Weekends: Open only when the temperature is forecasted to reach above 45°F.

Weekend closures will be communicated ahead of time via email, so keep an eye on your inbox for updates.

Programs on Hiatus

We know you love our Last Call Trivia Nights and Great 18 Live! music series, and we’re thrilled to announce their return in April. While these programs take a short winter break, we’re busy planning an exciting new addition to the lineup: Singo (Music Bingo) on Thursday nights! Get ready for more fun and entertainment as spring approaches.

Golf and Tennis Construction Update

Construction has begun on the 2025 expansion plans for the golf and tennis facilities. Here’s what patrons of the Grizzly can expect for the remainder of 2024.

  • Construction on the new shared Clubhouse has begun.
  • Fences will be placed around the construction site of the new Clubhouse.
  • Grizzly patrons should park in the overflow lot, located south of the outdoor patio shelters.
  • Paul Flory Way will be closed to golf traffic and open for construction traffic only.
  • All Grizzly patrons should use the entrance at Sports Center Complex Drive to enter the premises.

We appreciate your patience during this time. We are excited about the City’s and Beemok’s partnership for the tennis, golf, and racquet sports campus planned for 2025!

Hurdzan Plan: On-course Construction, Holes 4-7

The Hurdzan 22-Hole Enhancement Plan includes adding forward tees, increasing tee size, deleting and modifying existing bunkers and installing new Better Billy Bunker liners, expanding fairways, and improving drainage.

Holes 4 – 7 will be closed for construction and the Academy course will be utilized to maintain 18 holes of play. The adapted course routing will be in place likely through late spring of 2025.

For the best flow and ease of play, the routing for the Front 9 will be as follows:

We have designed a temporary scorecard, which you can download here or obtain in the pro shop.

Holes 10 – 18 will remain the same and routing will not be affected by course construction.
