The Legend of the Superintendent’s Revenge
Throughout the whispering woods of Mason, a legend has been passed down from golfer to golfer, a tale as timeless as the course itself.
Once upon a time, there was a Golden Grizzly, known far and wide for his passion for the sport and meticulous care he put into the course. Year in and year out, he groomed the greens, nurtured the fairways, and protected the sanctity of the game. The Golden Grizzly was a local hero and guardian of the golfer’s paradise.
Over time, as the course gained popularity, it also attracted unruly golfers. They didn’t respect the traditions, and often left the course in disarray, ignoring his pleas to treat it with respect.
One fateful autumn day, after a particularly raucous group left the greens trampled and the bunkers unraked, the Golden Grizzly decided enough was enough. Instead of cleaning up the mess, he got to work crafting the most challenging, unpredictable, and fiendish course set-up anyone had ever seen. Fairways became mazes, greens turned into veritable fortresses, and bunkers transformed into abysses of despair.
The very next day, he scheduled a scramble. Golfers arrived with their usual swagger, only to be met with Golden Grizzly’s devilish designs. It was pandemonium! Balls were lost, egos bruised, and by the end, only a few had even managed to complete the course.
From that day, in honor of the Golden Grizzly, an annual event dubbed “The Superintendent’s Revenge” was born – a day where the course bares its fangs, challenges are aplenty, and golfers get to experience the roar.
